Welcome to 97% Unique! My name is Nancy and I created this site to help teachers and other individuals who, like me, need a better resource to help them check for plagiarism.
I’ve been a middle school teacher for about nine years. I’m currently teaching English to sixth and seventh graders, but have also taught eighth grade social studies. I was drawn to the teaching career as a young child. My fifth-grade teacher really instilled a love of learning in me and helped me build better work study habits.
Before fifth-grade, I didn’t see the importance of education and wasn’t sure what I wanted to do when I grew up. However, after that year, I was bound and determined to become a teacher, and my desire to do so only became stronger when I volunteered with youth sports teams and worked as a camp counselor in high school.
When I’m not teaching, I love spending time with my family. My husband, three-year-old daughter, six-year-old son and I love going on adventures and spending time outdoors together. I love seeing my son and daughter get excited to learn something new.
I love teaching and seeing that same love of learning developing in my middle-schoolers. However, while I love my job, I was getting a bit frustrated with the amount of plagiarism I was seeing from my students.
Searching for the right plagiarism checkers was too time-consuming. Find the checkers that offered all the features I was looking for was taking too much time away from grading my students’ work and planning lessons.
After a lot of frustration and wasted time searching, I realized that have a centralized resource to share the best plagiarism checkers would make the process so much easier for other teachers who were facing the same frustrations. And, thus, 97% Unique was born.
I compiled reviews of the best plagiarism checkers I could find, chatted with my colleagues about what features were most important to them, and organized everything in a manner that would prevent others from wasting their time searching for the plagiarism checker that offered what they needed.
Many teachers have shared how helpful they have found this resource to be, and I hope you feel the same way!
